Antique Pink WHITE ROSES Oil Painting Gold FRAME Lstd Charlotte LILLA YALE c1900
Here is a beautiful antique oil on canvas painting of some soft pink and white roses. The artist depicted them lying on a tabletop and they still have all their foliage. The painting is framed in a newer gold gesso picture frame. The artist is signed very darkly at the bottom right. On the back stretcher is some script in pencil signed Charlotte Lilla Yale 1900. That is American listed. There is also a address that I cannot quite make-out. The entire piece measures 14 3/4 x 24 3/4 in. The canvas alone measures 11 x 20 in. The art is in good as is vintage condition with a chip of paint off at the side right. The frame has chips on the corners but is solid and stable. This is really one of the prettiest antique roses paintings I have ever seen. Perfect for Victorian, Edwardian, Romantic, Shabby, Cottage-chic, and late 1800s to 1900s decors. Aboriginal Painting by Audrey Martin Napanangka (P16-12). Audrey was born in 1950 in Yuendumu, a settlement about 370km away from Alice Springs, NT. She grew up in Yeundumu and went through local primary school. Audrey learnt painting from Netta Williams (Napanangka) and by watching tribal elders body painting. Both of her parents were good artists. Audrey started painting on canvas in 1986. She exhibited her works in Rome, Venice and other European cities. Some of Audreys dreaming are bush tucker (food), witchety grubs, Bush Sultana and Bush tomato. In recent years some of her paintings are printed into fabric by M&S textiles Australia and they have been very popular ever since. Nowadays Audery is one of the senior and well respected female artists in Yuendumu. She has taught many young aboriginal artists to paint one of them is her niece Miriam Williams Napangardi who is already very famous artist. 1998, 1999, 2002, Araluen Art Centre, Alice Springs.
