Description: Outstanding large oil on canvas, British, 18. Century frame with Aitken Dott, Edinburgh label. Dimensions: 57 1/2 inches high by 48 inches wide. Provenance: Northeast Auctions, Portsmouth. I live about 25 minutes northwest of Springfield, MA. About two hours from Boston and three hours from New York City. You can contact them at. I have wo rked with them extensively and they are excellent. Please check them out. Aitken Dott (1815-92) set up in business in Edinburgh in 1842. He was recorded in 1851 as a master carver and gilder employing six men.
