The artist set the man against a loosely painted brown oval background. The work is likely by the hand of an artist working in Paris in the 1880s, and the subject was likely a model for a group of artists at a studio. The back of the canvas is stamped with the canvas supplier – Jordany Aube. This stamp was used by the supplier exclusively between 1883 and 1889. The work is an oil on canvas and appears unsigned. 24 inches tall by 18 inches wide (painting). 30.25 inches tall by 24.75 inches wide (frame). Condition : Good overall antique condition.
