Unframed Original oil on canvas by the artist Eugene Poliarush. Size: 31.5×39.5. Hand- Signed by the Artist. Certificate of authenticity from the publisher. Only one of a kind. Eugene Poliarush (born 29 January 1985) is a Ukrainian painter. He was born in Dnepropetrovsk, the third-largest city of Ukraine. Poliarush was born an artist. In his early ages, his professors already recognized his talent with the brush. Everyone was amazed with his gift and hard work. Every day Eugene stayed after school in the art room and practice more and more. Since he was young, Eugene believed that a painting must be perfect and completed with a lot of work and sweat. His professors could not understand why every painting takes his so much time to finish because they could not see his vision of art. In the year 2003, Eugene decided to leave Ukraine and pursue his career in Paris. He attended one of the main universities in Paris for art. In the university he leaned about modern artists and famous Impressionists, but the artist that caught his attention the most was Salvador Dali. Eugene was always painting in the surrealism style, and he admired Dalis works because of his creativity and imagination. While Eugene Poliarush graduated from his university, he had really hard time to keep up with his vision. He started knocking on doors and asking from galleries to present his art. He received many negative responses until a dealer from Israel saw his potential and decided to take his art to the artexpo New York. It was a huge success and Eugene became a well-known artist around the world. Since this day, his art is presented in different exhibitions and in private shows around the world. Eugene defines a perfect painting as a painting that activate all your five senses. A paintings that makes you feel and smell the scene. He would finish a painting only when he looks at the painting and feel his dreams again. In every painting Eugene is trying to take you into an emotional journey of his dreams. Original Ross Stefan Oil On Canvas, Halfway To Kayenta, Listed Arizona Artist
Original Ross Stefan Oil On Canvas, Halfway To Kayenta, Listed Arizona Artist. This is a spectacular original oil painting by listed artist, Ross Stefan (1934 -1999). It was acquired from the private collection of a local Northwest artist. Due to ill health, Ross Stefan moved to southern Arizona in 1953, where he became an art student at the University of Arizona. In his spare time, Stefan worked as an illustrator for the Tucson Daily Citizen, using a melding of his own self-taught style with that of his early muse, Norman Rockwell. This foray into paid work convinced Ross Stefan to quit his studies at the University and begin painting full-time in 1955 in a studio and gallery he established in Tubac. It was also in 1955 that Ross Stefan first traveled out into the desert to spend time with the Navajos, painting and drawing the people and landscapes of the untouched West. From that point onward, Stefans work was amongst the most coveted and best-collected in the state of Arizona, with major retrospectives of his work at the Phippen Museum, the Harmsen Collection, the Denver Art Museum, the Pierce Western Collection, the Phoenix Art Museum and the Sangre de Cristo Arts Center. Ross Stefans scenes of pueblo life and the southern Arizona landscape are still archetypes of the genre, and his legacy is secure as one of the leading Arizona artists of the twentieth century. ” This painting is titled “Halfway To Kayenta. It depicts 3 Navajo figures riding on horseback as they make their way across the snowy Arizona landscape. The painting has a beautiful simplicity to it, which is typical of this style of southwestern art. The painting is an oil on canvas, signed in the lower right corner. It is additionally signed and titled on the verso. The painting is 12″ x 16″. The original, vintage frame measures 24 1/2″ x 20 1/2″. The frame is wood with linen lining. The wider part of the frame has been painted gold with a “distressed” appearance. The inner rim of the frame is silver. Please read the condition details above, and consider the photos as part of the description. Feel free to ask further questions. This is a fine collector’s piece! The essence of a true urban scene, daytime life and night life intermingle. It is a warm, gentle and inviting atmosphere. Maimon’s paintings capture the “boulevard culture, ” that uniquely French atmosphere that so intrigued Lautrec, Bonnard and other artists before him. Though strongly influenced by the Paris school of art, with his intrepid use of color and line he creates works that are absorbing, rich and uniquely Maimon. Born in Israel in 1951, to French speaking parents, he exhibited an early artistic ability that was enthusiastically supported by his family. After serving his time in the military, Maimon attended the Avni Institute of Fine Art in Tel Aviv, the most prestigious academy for the arts in Israel. This is where his initial interest in the Paris school was cultivated. In 1980, Maimon began teaching at the School of Visual Arts in Beer-Sheba and later that year the Kaye Art Academy. In the late 80’s he was a professor at the Ben-Gurion University in Beer-Sheba. During this time Maimon began an association that enabled him to build and manage coffeehouses. He became a restaurateur and pub owner. Always the artist, he was often found sitting at a back table sketching the care patrons. He thought that he could discern what people were saying or feeling from their expressions and postures. He would sketch from life in the care and go back to the studio to put color to the ideas on canvas. His earlier interest in the Paris School was again cultivated and nurtured. I have always been attracted to the atmosphere of coffee houses. I try to recreate this in my paintings. In 1989 an Israeli art-publishing group, Talking Walls, noticed Maimon’s paintings. After conducting numerous shows in Israel, Talking Walls brought Maimon’s work to the International Art Exposition in New York. There, an American publishing company, B & R International Art began what was to be an enduring alliance with Maimon, as the exclusive publisher and distributor of his works. His art is displayed each year at the Art Expo in New York and has been exhibited, as well, at expositions in Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Japan. He tours the United States annually with a series of one-man shows every fall. I have been painting since as far back as I can remember. I received much encouragement from my family and friends. In my youth, I was given important direction from Moshe Agmon and later at the Avni Institute. I was greatly influenced by Haim Kiva and Moshe Rosenthalis. Artists whose paintings have affected me are Matisse and of course Lautrec. Submit Best Offer, ALL OFFERS WILL BE CONSIDERED. Despite excursions into Cubism and Abstract Expressionism, Benn seems always to have been a’subject’ painter. Considering this, it is remarkable that he remained visible at all during the 50’s and early 60’s, when prejudice against the representational amounted nearly to a proscription of it. (1) Benn’s prominence in the art world over 6 decades was reaffirmed at a 90th birthday show at the Hirshhorn Museum in Washington, D. Benn was born Benjamin Rosenberg in the town of Kamenets Podolsk just after Christmas in 1884. This town was the regional capital of an area in what is today, SW Ukraine, and was historically known as Podolia. The area was economically important because of its rich black earth and location near navigable rivers. At the time of Benn’s birth the area was ruled by Czarist Russia and 12% of the population was Jewish. Most of the inhabitants were Poles and Ukrainians. They were often in conflict and both sides blamed the Jews for siding with the other. The Russian rulers exploited these tensions and even encouraged them, which would sometimes result in pogroms. Just 3 years before Benn’s birth Czar Alexander III placed restrictions on Jews’ ability to earn a living and where they could live; pogroms became commonplace. (2) It is therefore no surprise that the Rosenberg family chose, along with thousands of others, to immigrate from Podolia to the United States in 1894 or 1899. This was a good decision as Benn’s birth place became the site of a notorious massacre of 23,600 Jews by the Nazis in August of 1941. (3) Between 1904 and 1908 Benn attended the National Academy of Design The Academy curriculum stressed portraiture built up with broad, painterly brushstrokes, a technique that remained the foundation of Benn’s style By the mid teens his canvases were bolder in color and more decorative in style Benn participated in the Forum Exhibition (1916) as well as the first annual exhibition of the Society of Independent Artists (1917) Benn’s first solo exhibition was held in 1925 at J. Newmann’s New Art Circle gallery [During the 1930’s] the artist also depicted urban scenes, yet, unlike the Social Realists, his work was more an affirmation than a critical commentary on the human condition. “(4) Benn himself stated, “As a painter my aim is to organize my ideas into a unified plastic form, so that the whole will create a sense of joy and relaxation in the onlooker. (5) A description of White Torso by Benn could also apply to End of the Street. The strong, direct composition underscores Benn’s assimilation of Modernist theory. His use of shallow space filled with flattened geometric forms springs directly from the contemporary European aesthetic. What distinguishes this painting is the sensitive use of strong colors, so confidently applied. [6] End of the Street was exhibited at the Hammer galleries at a solo exhibition shortly after the artist’s death (#36 in catalogue), and was also part of the collection of the New Britain Art Museum. Hilton Kramer, former art critic for The New York Times, wrote in 1967, A certain distinction accures to any painter able to maintain a persistent personal vision and aesthetic quality Ben Benn is one of the happy exceptions to the rule There is a wonderful vigor, an exemplary professionalism and elan, that has been characteristic of his art for many decades. [7] Benn had many solo exhibitions during his lifetime, including one at the Jewish Museum in 1965. His works are in many museums, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Whitney, and Hirshhorn Museum. A Benn painting is also the only American artist represented in the great Kreuller Collection in the Hague, Holland, which houses the finest Van Goghs. “(5) Sources: (1) The New York Times, Raynor, Vivien, “Art: Works by Benn Are Back in View, July 10, 1983.
