Francisco Rodríguez Sánchez Clement Copy. Official Title (in French). Official Title (in English) Fire Dancer. Absolutely beautiful and enchanting framed oil painting on canvas depicting a Gypsy Flamenco dancing by fire with a group of shadowy Gypsies looking on. This is a very painterly replica of a Francisco Rodríguez Sánchez Clement F. I have viewed images of the rarely seen original painting, which is in a private collection, and this replica art is remarkably accurate. Measures: 20.5H x 25.5W; Frame: 26.5H x 32W. Painting Condition: Very good, a few minor cracks by feet (see photo). Frame: Some small chips in paint around edging (see photo). Clement graduated from Academia de Bellas Aretes de Madrid. He was influenced by his native culture and in particular the gypsy tradition. He spent a lot of time traveling with caravans of gypsies, a dream he had since childhood. Together, they crossed Europe and along the way he captured, through sketches and paintings, the essence and magic of the rich life which surrounded him. During this time, he learned much about music and dance, which further fueled the passion of his paintings. His work did not only celebrate individuals and their surroundings but transmuted the mystic tales of the passion and soul, which was the nature of the gypsy. Upon returning to Spain, he faced adversity. Unable to find sufficient encouragement from the salons and exhibitions in his own country, he made the decision in his mid-twenties to go to Paris to seek his fame and fortune. There among other artists he felt greater freedom and continued to follow his love of figure painting. He has an excellent sense of color, which gives strength to his vigorous style of drawing. Most of his pictures portray the wild rhythm of the flamenco dancers and many with a group of dimmly lit shadowy figures in the background. In every subject, he illustrates pulsating life. Since the exhibitions of his paintings in the salons of Paris and around Europe, he has become known as the pictorial storyteller of his heritage. His works have been published in distinguished art catalogs and have enriched several public and private collections throughout the world. Many of my paintings have thick paint and can take a while to cure completely. The thick passages may still be a bit soft. With a few weeks cure time the paint will stiffen and the new aroma of natural walnut oil will fade completely. Please be aware that my paintings are meant to be viewed FRAMED. As fantastical as they may be and as pleased as you might be with your winning of my unframed little masterpiece be aware that the magnitude of your ocular felicity will increase exponentially as soon as you see the painting framed. They are best viewed and enjoyed with a simple profile dark or gold leafed plein air or craftsman style frame like the one pictured. The colors, drawing and composition of the artwork will all stand out and come together in a most pleasing-to-the-eye fashion when once framed. Enjoyment of any given painting will increase greatly when viewed while FRAMED at eye level on any wall. I strongly suggest having a frame ready for its first viewing or… Drive the unopened package directly to your favorite frame shop without anyone ever seeing the painting in its naked state. Mystery Artist C. 16th Century Large Original Religious Work Antique
Any help identifying the hand that did this magnificent antique oil would be very much appreciated. We know nothing about this work other than it is obviously religious subject matter and it is very very very old. There is a very old canvas that the work is presumed to have been done on initially. It looks from the side that the old canvas was attached to a newer canvas. Presumably due to the fragile nature of the paint, the canvas was then mounted to board. We have tried to take pictures to help an educated eye appreciate the condition of the work. We can see that there have been paint repairs over the years, the oil has significant cracking and the varnish has yellowed. We showed this work to a collector friend and they told us they believe it is from c. 16th century, although he was not an expert and we certainly are not either. Please examine pictures closely yourself and draw your own conclusions. Please note that the colors and skin tones appears to us to be a bit more muted in person versus what shows in the pictures. This work will be perfect for 1 a preserver with the talent and means to bring it back to its glory (and likely make a fortune on it) or 2 someone that wants to wrap this beauty in an old gold frame, appreciate the imperfections as a true antique statement piece in that special room in their stately home. This is a very rare amazing find for the right person. We have not had this work appraised and we list it reluctantly. Vintage jazzy music man cello player original oil painting. It is signed by artist, Cheris. It is I believe oil on canvas board. It is in great vintage condition. The frame shows its age a little with a couple of bumps (see last 2 pictures). It measures 25 1/4 square. The picture itself without the frame measures 22 square. AS THEY ARE PART OF MY DESCRIPTION.
