JEAN PIERRE DUBORD ORIGINAL Hand Signed Oil Painting on Stretched Canvas! Paris
Sur les Grands Boulevards a Paris. Medium : Original Oil Painting on Stretched Canvas. Signed: Hand Signed by Dubord. Size : 29″ x 23 1/2″. Certificate of Authenticity included. His works make people smile, make you feel you want to join the people bustling around France. His work s light-hearted, unique, interesting, and full of life. His colors are pleasing, and add a touch of sometimes whimsy to your own life. The Benezit-listed French artist’s work is collected worldwide. John-Pierre Dubord has an original approach to painting: his choice of palette colors is rich in its tones, fresh and uplifting; his canvases reveal an intense joy of life; and his love of the rhythms of nature are interpreted with nuances of color. Jean Pierre Dubord has mastered the art of imprisoning light on canvas. The delicate poetic strain in his paintings has been influenced by the Impressionists. There is a very personal touch as well, however, for as one critic remarked, Dubord is guided solely by his heart and emotions. Westport River Gallery in Westport, Connecticut, is pleased to offer his works in the Connecticut, New York and New Jersey areas. Jean Pierre Dubord was born in Rouen, France in l949. Although that city remains his favorite subject, he often paints the street scenes of Paris, the Normandy countryside, the beaches of Deauville and the vistas along the Seine. He infuses his work with the subtleties of light and color unique to each season and locale. A multitude of first place and gold medal awards have been won by Jean Pierre Dubord: First Prize of Ville de Canteleu, l982; Gold Medal of Ville de Reuil Malmelson, l985; and the Prize of Conseil General Salon de Pontoise in l985, to name only a few. JEAN MICHEL BASQUIAT CHARACTER FIGURE. Auctioning unique, expressive color field, mixed media on canvas painting of character and objects composition, signed Jean Michel Basquiat in the lower margin and verso. Approximate width: 25.0. Label and stamp on verso. This artwork was acquired in a folio of paintings and screenprints from Germany, the artwork is accompanied with registration certificate at National Fine Arts Registry, with a letter of description, COA, with transfer of ownership letter and transfer of registration certificate to the new owner, artwork is currently presented and described as in manner of the artist, as is, as was acquired. An iconic Neo-Expressionist image, will enhance any interior or serious art collection. Basquiat’s work is one of the few examples of how an early 1980s American Punk, or graffiti-based and counter-cultural practice could become a fully recognized, critically embraced and popularly celebrated artistic phenomenon. Despite his work’s “unstudied” appearance, Basquiat very skillfully and purposefully brought together in his art a host of disparate traditions, practices, and styles to create a unique kind of visual collage, one deriving, in part, from his urban origins, and in another a more distant, African-Caribbean heritage. The present work represents the ultimate tour-de-force of expressive line, color and form that has come to represent Basquiat’s iconic painterly oeuvre. Expressionist in its exuberance, the frenetic brushwork acts as the framework for the rest of the composition, built up methodically through layers of drips, scrawls and passages of pigment massaged with the artists own fingers. “Basquiat is art’s answer to Jimi Hendrix and Charlie Parker” L. Marenzi,’Pay for Soup/Build a Fort/Set that on Fire,’ in Basquiat , exh. Deliveries are by national postal service. All items are handled and packed with care.
