Original oil on canvas painting of a white rabbit considering a carrot with a black rabbit friend nearby. It’s oil on stretched canvas, unsigned and artist unknown. The art dealer I bought it from estimated it was painted in the 1940s. The painting itself is approximately 10 inches by 12 inches, and in its original ornate gold baroque frame it measures 13 inches by. The back is covered in black fabric and it has a wire ready for hanging. It’s in very good v. Intage condition, with minor wear on the frame. There are three small worn spots on the white rabbit, visible in the photos. Antique 19c Oil on Canvas Original Painting Portrait of Dog Vintage Signed 1859
Beautiful Antique Oil Painting. “Portrait of a Dog”. Dated:’59 (Judging by the age of the canvas, I believe that the date by the signature is referring to “1859”). Size of Artwork: 12″ x 18″. I think that the dog in the painting is some sort of Mastiff or Terrier breed. If you know what breed of dog that it is, please send me a message and let me know. You input would be greatly appreciated. I personally would say that the Painting is in very good condition, considering it’s age. It does show some natural color fading, scratches, scuffs, crazing, a few areas of paint loss. All of which should be completely expected for a piece of this age.
