Superb acrylic and gold leaf painting on canvas in a thin timber frame. Signed”Bromley” lower left. Image 90 x 60 cm / frame 95 x 64.5 cm. The painting is in very good condition. The frame shows minor wear. Born in Sheffield, England in 1960, David Bromley is a prominent contemporary Australian artist best known for his acrylic, gold and silver leaf paintings of birds, butterflies, children at play and the female nude. A finalist for the Archibald Prize in 1999, 2001 and 2004, he is widely exhibited having held numerous solo exhibitions in Australia and overseas. David Bromley is represented in the collections of the National Gallery of Victoria, the National Gallery of Australia, the Art Gallery of South Australia and the Art Gallery of Western Australia as well as a number of regional and university art galleries.
