A stunning rare original still life oil painting on canvas by renowned and well regarded French artist Jules Rene Herve. Herve is well known for his Parisian scenes but this is a rare still life by this very accomplished artist. Herve was born in France in 1887 and died in 1981, his popularity has been steadily growing ever since. Very well presented in its original frame and also signed on the reverse of the canvas as Herve usually did. Measures 21 x 18 inc frame, the image measuring 14 x 10. Marco Gomez is known for nostalgic cowboy genre and mission painting. The following information was submitted in June of 2006 by Norman Davies, California book collector and art historian. Marco Antonio Gomez “Tony” was born in Durango, Mexico in 1910. He was 8 years old when the family moved to Ashfork, Arizona. His father was a recognized portrait painter. Young Tony was raised among paint pots and canvases and one day had encroached upon his father’s creative endeavors with a misplaced brush stroke. His father initially gave his son paints and canvas with the admonition: “You paint your pictures and let me paint mine”, or words to that effect. Later his father taught him. Much of the artist’s work springs from his background in mountainous northern Arizona. Displaying 750 of 4045 characters. Antique Small Mother & Child Portrait Original Oil Painting on Paper 8×6 Old. This work is unsigned. I never checked the back of it. It is a mystery artist. Original frame needs to be repaired. It has multiple decorative pieces missing. Two top corners are chipped on the frame. One large chunk is missing on the side. There are many cracks on the frame as shown in the pictures. Painting itself is in very nice condition. It seems its done on heavy paper. It is nice work, however the details are not very refined. Please refer to pictures for measurements and details. WONDERFUL PAINTING ON CANVAS OF PABLO PICASSO SPANISH ARTIST, SIGNED AND SEALED. In France in 1937. Picasso was intrigued with the subject, and revisited the theme numerous times that year. This painting, created on 26 October 1937. Was the most elaborate of the series. Its dimensions are 60 49 cm, 23 19 ¼ inches. Was Picasso’s mistress from 1936 until 1944. In the course of their relationship, Picasso painted her in a number of guises, some realistic, some benign, others tortured or threatening. For me she’s the weeping woman. For years I’ve painted her in tortured forms, not through sadism, and not with pleasure, either; just obeying a vision that forced itself on me. It was the deep reality, not the superficial one. Dora, for me, was always a weeping woman…. And it’s important, because women are suffering machines. Unfortunately I do not have c. The collection comprises of drawings by various artists, some more well- known than others, which are in pencil and ink and from various decades throughout the 20th century. The painting is in excellent condition. The measurements for this painting are 31,5″x 23,5″. Under Italian law, Legislative Decree No. 41 of 24/01/2004, art. 179, Code of Culture Heritage. LLEGA A LA CIMA. Dimensions: 24 X 36 in. Jose Bedia get his first formal art training in Cuba, at the San Alejandro school from 1972 to 1976, then at the Instituto Superior de Arte from 1976 to 1981. There he encountered genres of Western painting, plus a dash of Socialist Realism. Following a stint in the Cuban Army (he served in Angola, where he found opportunities to extend his knowledge of African art and culture), Bedia resumed his artistic career. In 1985, he made his first visit to the United States for a four-month artist’s residency and participation in a traveling show titled New Art in Cuba. Bedia left Havana in 1990 and after spending several years in Mexico City, then moved to Miami with his wife and son in 1993. Bedia uses the world of visual languages – Kongo and Lakota – to express himself. His adaptive style – also called Afro-Cuban – helps him connect native ritual to its meaning.
