Very Nice Antique Oil Painting. Shows a sad looking dog with his head & one front leg tied up in bandages. I believe that it’s a bulldog perhaps a Bullmastiff or Old English Bulldog.. Its a very unique piece of art with great subject matter. I’ve seen many lesser quality pieces from the same era, sell for much higher than my asking price on this painting. Estimated Age: Late 1800’s – Early 1900’s. Canvas Size: 20″ x 28″. Framed Size: 27.25″ x 35.25″. The painting is artist signed. There is a plaque attached to the frame, attributing the painting to an artist named “Jose Vila” from Spain. Please refer to photos. In my personal opinion, the painting is in Very Good overall condition, considering it’s age. It does show some normal wear which should be expected on a piece of this age light scuffs, scratches, dings, discoloration, fading, etc.. Please refer to the photos, and judge the cosmetics based upon your own personal preferences. The frame is an antique wood frame.
