C AUTHENTIC OIL PAINTING OF FARMER COWS. BEAUTIFUL WORK OF ART BY 19. Up for sale fine painting, landscape with cows, oil on canvas. The painting appears unsigned but attributed to Don Morgan. It has his name written of the frame. It is a very vibrant scene capturing the simple peasant farmer life in the countryside with cows in front of the painting. Flat fields stretch well into the blurred distance where a few more cows are visible before the shaded hills. The pallette is well painted and suggestive of possible evening or upcoming rain. X 9 1/4; overall with golden gilded wooden frame: 14 1/2 x 12 1/2. Painting is in good condition commensurate with the age. It has some wear, some surface soiling and toning showing the actual age. Hello, you are viewing my listing for an Antique 1800’s Oil Painting on Canvas of a Portrait of a Young Girl. This antique painting is held inside of a Custom Wood Frame. The painting with the frame weighs 13 pounds and measures 27 and 1/2″ wide by 31 and 1/2″ tall by 3 and 1/2 thick. The painting by itself measures 20″ wide by 24″ tall. The painting has some condition issues which are crazing throughout and a loss of paint especially on the face area. I have shown this in my photographs. There are no rips, tears, or repairs. Antique Early American Folk Art Portrait handsome Man Empire Picture Frame 1840
This nicely preserved historic oil on canvas portrait of a handsome, 20-something man check out the eyebrows! With pleasant, subtle smiling facial expression and tousled hair with near spit curls is housed in its original mahogany on pine frame retaining original varnish and measures 30 1/4″ x 26 1/8″ overall; 26″ x 22″ actual. The subject is depicted with his arm casually draped over the back of an empire side chair and engaging the viewer with the frankness and piercing dark brown eyes. The work has stable paint with some very small pinpoint spots of loss in the background and the surface of the painting is fairly dirty with no obvious inpaint. It has an early 20th century re-lining and is mounted to its original stretchers. I added the modern steel clips as the bent nails previously employed were loose and a potential threat to the canvas. It comes from a Massachusetts family collection and the identity of the sitter is unknown.
