Pilar Wayne framed and delivered this and two other original oils to his home in Las Vegas. Pallete (Pilar) was born September 3, 1928 into an upper-class family, the daughter of a Peruvian senator in the Paita Port (northern Peru). She married and divorced professional big-game hunter Richard Weldy. She met John Wayne, 21 years her senior, in Lima, Peru, in 1953, while still married to Weldy. Wayne was in Peru scouting locations for The Alamo In 1953, Pallete came to Los Angeles to dub a film in English, when she ran into John Wayne for the second time. Pallete retired from her motion picture career to be a wife and mother to their three children: Aissa, Ethan, and Marisa Wayne. During the next 10 years of their marriage, they traveled extensively, usually on location for John Wayne's many films. In 1965, they moved to Newport Beach, California. She rented a studio inside the Fernleaf Courtyard, in Corona Del Mar, California where she would entertain her clients outdoors with coffee and finger sandwiches and found herself, one year later, with a full-time restaurant. Pallete has created among other works of art, a collection of still nature and beautiful ladies, belly dancers called "Glamour Girls", and group images from the Hollywood world. Original oil on canvas painting abstract Carlo of Hollywood MCM signed WOW
There has been much written about this prolific artist who also did some set decorating for the “I Love Lucy” TV series. His work is becoming extremely collectible. This abstract painting is extremely large measuring approx 61.5 ” x 47″ framed and is in it’s original frame. The colors are bright and hues of greens and blues with a little black. I’m not an art expert however I would say it is in very good condition for its age. Appears to have been painted in 1963. No tears and colors are bright. There are a few pin dot white spots and a tiny scratch that is in one of the photos. I doubt any of this would be noticeable with it hanging on a wall. However I want to point anything I can see out. The frame is in good condition. A few minor bumps and scratches on it and on the left hand side of the frame there is an area lighter in color. Can easily be retouched. Superb antique French framed original oil on canvas painting, two greyhound dogs
Very old style painting of two dogs. This is so fabulous and just could not be re-created with new! A very old oil painting of two dogs in the country side… Perfectly shabby brocante chic. Good size – measuring 20 3/4″ x 19 1/2 ” (52.5 x 49.5cm). Signed by the artist. In real old antique condition. This is a true French brocante item – meaning that it is a little scruffy and old and time worn and loved and used! Just perfect in my eyes and I would prefer this on my wall to any new painting any day!! The frame is also chippy! French chic in it’s finest form… The hours this must have taken someone – and now this could be re-homed abroad… Imagine how the artist would feel!
