Art painting, original, acrylic on canvas, from the series castaways. This artist participated in the Florence biennale 2019. Large in size, 60 x 72 in. Original, one of a kind. Has certificate of authenticity. Maurizio BattiforaArtist StatementMaurizio Battifora The Pointillist Italian born, much of Battifora’s inspiration comes from baroque and renaissance painters. He is fascinated by the exaggerated motion, drama and tension in the old masters’ works. He is also influenced by the artistic style of Gustav Klimt. Battifora studied art, but his own empirical and intuitive development drove his evolution as an artist to that of a figurative pointillist. He attempts to communicate in his work through subtle storytelling. His main body of work consists of small to large dots of acrylic on canvas and is more graphic and bold to the eye, than Seurat’s pointillism of an earlier age. Battifora’s technique requires extreme discipline and many focused hours to each of his series of paintings. Battifora’s time consuming technique vibrates with every stroke of the brush. The image grows and takes shape as I juxtapose the dots of acrylics over the canvas. The three dimensional mosaic effect gives the painting movement and brings it to life. A small painting might take 40 to 80 hours of work. I want to communicate directly with the viewer, as if they are part of the painting and not simply a spectator. I greatly appreciate those who contemplate my work and provide opinions. To me that’s when Art closes the circle. Used, no smoking home. This item shows heavy wear consistent with age and use. Framed this work of art measures 30.50″ in Wide x 18″ in High. Gilt wood frame shows heavy wear, chipping and scratches. Canvas painting has multiple areas with damage, paint loss, discoloring and surface scratches as seen in images. Has writing on the back but I was not able to read. Vtg Original Signed Oil On Canvas Heavy Relief Woman Reading Framed Art
Vtg Original Signed Oil On Canvas Heavy Relief “Woman Reading” Framed Art. This an absolutely amazing original framed art painting, oil on canvas. The subject is a pretty woman lying on her stomach, her hands outstretched in front of her as she reads a book. She is wearing a beautiful red dress, her blonde hair is styled, and her facial features are intricately-detailed. The wow factor of this original artwork is the technique and talent of the artist. Usually on an original oil on canvas piece, you can kind of tell that it’s original because of the slight lift due to the brush strokes. But on this particular original, it is blatantly obvious that this was hand-crafted by the artist. This is because some of the strokes were laid with more intention, more paint added to the canvas, therefore giving this piece the raised-relief texture and look. The variations in the gold and darker strokes on the background are complemented by the lovely hand-painting of the woman reading. The frame on this art is surprisingly well-paired with the art it encompasses. It is black wood with splashes of red paint, it’s faceted and etched, and there is twisted gold painted wood at the center where the painting begins. There are a few very tiny nicks in the wood, but overall, this is in excellent condition. There is no damage to this painting. This measures 25.5″ L x 21.75″ H. It is signed on the bottom right by the artist, R Allen (I’m not certain of the name). It is truly an incredible original piece of art. This item is in the category “Art\Paintings”.
