Well Listed and Popular French Artist Urbain Huchet Signed, on lower left, this Marvelous, Impressionistic, Original Oil on Canvas, depicting a day out at the Racetrack, as the Well Dressed set of years gone. Urbain Huchet was born in Rennes, France on April 28, 1930 After studying law and owning a textile factory for four years, he decided in 1960 to devote himself entirely to painting. Huchet spent his first three years as an artist in Port-Aven, following in the footsteps of Gaugin and Emile Bernard, both of whom influenced him a great deal. He does many paintings of the landscape and the typical people of this region. His love of the Brittany coast and the sea can always be seen in his work. After moving to Paris in 1963, he spent time painting and writing in Europe, the Middle East and South America, where his inspiration from the markets, peoples and landscapes have become very well known. He made 14 trips of more than 4 months each, from Mexico to Brazil, via Peru, Central America and the Caribbean islands. A luxurious portfolio of lithographs of Egypt shows his love of that country. Urbain Huchet has held exhibitions throughout the world, however Paris is where his largest number of works have been produced. At least 300 editions of lithographs have been printed of his works, all produced by the artist himself in different workshops in Paris and Cannes. Huchet died in 2014. This is a RARE vintage Mid century oil on canvas painting of Everglades Scene by A. His name was Albert Ernest (Beanie) Backus was a painter and teacher and inspirer for the Original Florida Highwaymen. He was also known to be the greatest Florida Landscape painter and mentor for the Original Florida highwaymen. He was a self taught artist from Fort Pierce Florida and now has a Museum n there named A. Backus Museum & Gallery. Also is is in the Florida Artist hall of Fame. This is a rare painting of his measuring 20 by 24 inches just the painting and with frame measures 28 by 32 inches and is in very good condition for it’s age with a water line as pictured on it which does not take away from this magnificent painting.
