Description: Outstanding large oil on canvas, British, 18. Century frame with Aitken Dott, Edinburgh label. Dimensions: 57 1/2 inches high by 48 inches wide. Provenance: Northeast Auctions, Portsmouth. I live about 25 minutes northwest of Springfield, MA. About two hours from Boston and three hours from New York City. You can contact them at. I have wo rked with them extensively and they are excellent. Please check them out. Aitken Dott (1815-92) set up in business in Edinburgh in 1842. He was recorded in 1851 as a master carver and gilder employing six men. Up for sale original oil painting on canvas, depicting Venice, Italy. Unsigned but has a nameplate with Artist name “GINI” and some notes about Artist on a backside (difficult to read). Large MCM Hollywood Regency 1970’s Floral Painting by Lee Reynolds Signed
Signed in lower right corner Reynolds. Very nice condition, ready to hang and enjoy. All reasonable offers will be considered and answered. Lee Reynolds Burr (19362017) opened his Vanguard Studios in Beverly Hills, California, in 1964 to make oil paintings an attainable decoration for any American household. With seascapes, nautical scenes, still lifes, bullfights, cowboys, pastoral views, hot-air balloons, horse races and abstractions, there was a Vanguard Studios creation to match any taste and interior. Born in Los Angeles, Burr studied art at the University of Southern California. After graduating and a stint in the U. Army, he worked in a local studio as a painter before becoming a home decor entrepreneur with financial support from his mother. These paintings regularly mirrored art-world trends, such as the Abstract Expressionism of the 1960s, but at prices that were much more affordable than fine art. Burr would start East Park Gallery in 1981 and continue to produce works in a more contemporary style until his retirement in 1998.
