For every artist, each painting connects in some way to anearlier part of life. Each piece of art has roots in a remote part of ourmemory. What we recall-whether we look backward or forward-somehow reformsitself on the canvas before us. Boxes began as a random balance ofcolors and patterns, something I had pleasure working on. But it ended up as anabstracted vision of Christmas as a boy, with presents from parents, aunts, uncles and cousins stacked in a corner of the living room. I hope you enjoyit. And Merry Christmas!

Up for sale is a powerful antique original oil painting on canvas depicting a Stormy Coastal Landscape – Sailboat on the high seas close to the coast and a group of people anxiously watching them from the shore near the lighthouse. The nameplate in the middle front “Safe in Harbour” Walther Dean. Condition: Stable craquelure due to age. One overpainted small area in the sky. Presented in a gorges Antique ornate gold frame. The frame is in fair condition, has some cracks and chipped pieces. Please see the photos, photos are part of the description. Framed measures 30″ x 24″, painting measures 23 1/4″x 17 1/4″.
