C AUTHENTIC OIL PAINTING OF FARMER COWS. BEAUTIFUL WORK OF ART BY 19. Up for sale fine painting, landscape with cows, oil on canvas. The painting appears unsigned but attributed to Don Morgan. It has his name written of the frame. It is a very vibrant scene capturing the simple peasant farmer life in the countryside with cows in front of the painting. Flat fields stretch well into the blurred distance where a few more cows are visible before the shaded hills. The pallette is well painted and suggestive of possible evening or upcoming rain. X 9 1/4; overall with golden gilded wooden frame: 14 1/2 x 12 1/2. Painting is in good condition commensurate with the age. It has some wear, some surface soiling and toning showing the actual age. Herman Maril Oil On Canvas Painting “The Farmer” 1939. The piece measures 12″ x 10″. Examples of Maril’s work are in the collections of The Smithsonian Institute and The Phillips Collection, both in Washington D. As well as in numerous national and international museums including The Museum of Modern Art in New York. A major retrospective of his paintings was mounted at The Baltimore Museum of Art in the mid-1960s. Marking the centennial of Maril’s birth, the Provincetown Art Association and Museum showed a second major retrospective of his work in 2008. His estate is currently represented by David Findlay Jr. Fine Art in New York City and The Whitney Museum of American Art in New York City. A fine investment in a great American artist! Fanny Moncayo Oil On Canvas Farmer Landscape Original Ecuadorian Art VERY RARE
Sale is for a one of a kind Fanny Moncayo oil on canvas painting. Raquel Moncayo, Fanny is the daughter of well known Ecuadorian painter Hector Moncayo. This landscape painting features a farmer and cattle roaming next to a path at the base of a hill. Atop the hill is a small hut. Far off in the distance is a mountain under a partly cloudy blue sky. Measures approximately 27 1/2″ x 20 3/4″ x 2 1/2 in total, including frame. Canvas itself measures approximately 22 3/4″ x 16″. Weighs approximately 3lbs, 12oz. The frame is handmade and hand painted and ready to hang. The stamp on the frame, included in photos, reads. Canvas may need to be re-stretched. Frame does have some dings/ chips in the paint and does have some smudges, scuffs, excess paint. Again, this is in reference to the frame, not the painting itself. Due to age and exposure to assumed elements some of the paint is beginning to crack. I do not know how this painting made its way to South Carolina from Ecuador but since I have had it in my possession it has been carefully stored in a clean, smoke free, climate controlled storage room.
