Duffey’06 that features 11 Monument Avenue Houses and 2 Monument Avenue Porches and the Virginia State Capitol in the center and the Matthew Fontaine Maury Monument in the lower left. Duffey painted one Christmas in Richmond Painting from about 2000 to about 2010. This is the original 2006 Christmas in Richmond painting. This painting has at least 75 different shades of color – all very vivid – and features the houses in a collage centered around the Virginia State Capitol with both the United States and Virginia Flags Flying. The now-gone Matthew Fontaine Maury Monument is in the lower left. Various trees and snow scenes are mixed in. This is a gorgeous painting done on stretched canvas. Extremely vivid and fresh colors. This is among the finest of Parks Duffey’s Richmond Paintings. Original Paintings by Parks Pegram Duffey don’t come on the market that often. Duffey has a unique style of Southern Impressionism, and his most well-known paintings are of colleges and Virginia landmarks, mostly of Central Virginia (usually Richmond and Petersburg) that form collages of large numbers of different colors to bring together a feast for the eyes. He has done other styles of artwork including rural southern scenes, colorful Caribbean paintings and book illustrations, he is most well-known for the college and landmark collages.
