Fanny Moncayo Oil On Canvas Farmer Landscape Original Ecuadorian Art VERY RARE
Sale is for a one of a kind Fanny Moncayo oil on canvas painting. Raquel Moncayo, Fanny is the daughter of well known Ecuadorian painter Hector Moncayo. This landscape painting features a farmer and cattle roaming next to a path at the base of a hill. Atop the hill is a small hut. Far off in the distance is a mountain under a partly cloudy blue sky. Measures approximately 27 1/2″ x 20 3/4″ x 2 1/2 in total, including frame. Canvas itself measures approximately 22 3/4″ x 16″. Weighs approximately 3lbs, 12oz. The frame is handmade and hand painted and ready to hang. The stamp on the frame, included in photos, reads. Canvas may need to be re-stretched. Frame does have some dings/ chips in the paint and does have some smudges, scuffs, excess paint. Again, this is in reference to the frame, not the painting itself. Due to age and exposure to assumed elements some of the paint is beginning to crack. I do not know how this painting made its way to South Carolina from Ecuador but since I have had it in my possession it has been carefully stored in a clean, smoke free, climate controlled storage room. It has certified authenticity of Doña Blanca Pons Sorolla. This work is one of the three sketches that the artist made for the completion of “The Burial of Christ” presented at the National Exhibition of Fine Arts. “The Burial of Christ” was a giant canvas of religious themes, almost seven meters wide. It was one of the most modified oils, reaching at the end of a process of reduction in characters, an exquisite composition of remarkable harmony and ascetic sobriety. Sorolla risked a lot with this work. So he worked tirelessly in the realization of such a risky proposal. The Burial of Christ. Today, there is hardly anything (are humble remains in the Sorolla Museum in Madrid). This work is contained in the collected letters, book of letters between Joaquin Sorolla and his friend Pedro Gil Moreno de Mora. In the next film (from the 15th minut) they talk about this work. Ludwig Blum Original Oil On canvas Painting Signed Rare Paris France Old 1960
The Painting was done during a visit of Ludwig Blum at Paris, France. A Landscape View of the River Seine Basin, with Paris at the Distance. Dimensions: 34 x 46 cm. Ludwig Blum was born in 1891 in Brno, Czechoslovakia. He emigrated to Israel in 1923, as part of the Third Aliyah. He served in the First World War. He was privately educated in Vienna and later attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. Upon his arrival in Israel, and as a dedicated Zionist, he started paintings scenes of everyday life and landscapes in Israel. He did many paintings of Jerusalem (including the Western Wall and the Mount of Olives), Tel Aviv, the Sea of Galilee and the Judaean Mountains. Additionally, he painted some kibbutzs: Kiryat Anavim and Degania Alef, and the lives of Israeli soldiers, including the Palmach. He also painted copper mines in the Timna Valley. He also painted the Arch of Constantine in Rome, Italy, and a vase of roses. He became known as “the painter of Jerusalem”. In 1933, his painting entitled simply Jerusalem was honoured at the Royal Academy of Arts in London. In 1967, he received the Yakir Yerushalayim from the City of Jerusalem. Pallete (Pilar) was born September 3, 1928 into an upper-class family, the daughter of a Peruvian senator in the Paita Port (northern Peru). She married and divorced professional big-game hunter Richard Weldy. She met John Wayne, 21 years her senior, in Lima, Peru, in 1953, while still married to Weldy. Wayne was in Peru scouting locations for The Alamo In 1953, Pallete came to Los Angeles to dub a film in English, when she ran into John Wayne for the second time. Pallete retired from her motion picture career to be a wife and mother to their three children: Aissa, Ethan, and Marisa Wayne. During the next 10 years of their marriage, they traveled extensively, usually on location for John Wayne's many films. In 1965, they moved to Newport Beach, California. She rented a studio inside the Fernleaf Courtyard, in Corona Del Mar, California where she would entertain her clients outdoors with coffee and finger sandwiches and found herself, one year later, with a full-time restaurant. Pallete has created among other works of art, a collection of still nature and beautiful ladies, belly dancers called "Glamour Girls", and group images from the Hollywood world.
