In 1963, he exhibited with Cocteau, Lurcat, Picasso, and Picabia. Bria mainly exhibited in France through 1970. After 1971, he exhibited in Switzerland, Italy and in the USA. Many paintings were ordered by the Embassy of the German Democratic Republic in Paris, the Embassy of Paraguay in Spain, and by Princess Faiçal from Saudi Arabia for her palace. Bria does not lock himself in a system. And the connecting thread is without any doubt the style. Here is a beautiful original (most likely) oil on canvas, framed in a gilted, ornate wooden frame. It is signed by the artist – Reiter and it also has his name on the edge of the canvas. It measures approximately 8×10 inches unframed and with the frame, 13 1/2 x 11 1/2 inches. It features the Notre Dame cathedral in Paris, France, overlooking the Seine River, with a magazine vendor in the foreground. It’s very well done. It’s also very old, but I’m not sure how old. It has a hanger bracket on the back so it’s ready to be hung. We work hard to keep our high ratings and we will do our best to resolve any concerns. We are not experts in any field. Ludwig Blum Original Oil On canvas Painting Signed Rare Paris France Old 1960
The Painting was done during a visit of Ludwig Blum at Paris, France. A Landscape View of the River Seine Basin, with Paris at the Distance. Dimensions: 34 x 46 cm. Ludwig Blum was born in 1891 in Brno, Czechoslovakia. He emigrated to Israel in 1923, as part of the Third Aliyah. He served in the First World War. He was privately educated in Vienna and later attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. Upon his arrival in Israel, and as a dedicated Zionist, he started paintings scenes of everyday life and landscapes in Israel. He did many paintings of Jerusalem (including the Western Wall and the Mount of Olives), Tel Aviv, the Sea of Galilee and the Judaean Mountains. Additionally, he painted some kibbutzs: Kiryat Anavim and Degania Alef, and the lives of Israeli soldiers, including the Palmach. He also painted copper mines in the Timna Valley. He also painted the Arch of Constantine in Rome, Italy, and a vase of roses. He became known as “the painter of Jerusalem”. In 1933, his painting entitled simply Jerusalem was honoured at the Royal Academy of Arts in London. In 1967, he received the Yakir Yerushalayim from the City of Jerusalem. His long experience working outdoors on location helps him deal with the limitations imposed on the artist who uses reference photographs in the studio. The artist’s work is widely represented in private collections in the US, Canada, Europe (Spain, Switzerland, France, England, Ireland, and Austria), Korea and Taiwan.
