Vintage Roberto Lupetti Original Nude Oil Painting Signed on the Front and Back
Roberto Lupetti Original Nude Oil Painting. Absolutely stunning original nude oil on canvas painting by Italian artist Roberto Lupetti. The painting is of a nude female figure from the back. Predominate colors are dark red-browns, yellow ochre and pinks. The painting is signed on the front as well as the back, with the artist’s fingerprint and the bank stamp. The canvas measures 17.5″ wide x 35.5″ high. The overall framed picture measures 27″ wide x 45″ high. The canvas is in excellent condition. The frame is in excellent condition, except for a slight rubbed spot on the bottom corner and a small fleck of missing paint (see pics). Born in Milan, Italy on Dec. Lupetti studied at the Royal Academy in Rome and was apprenticed to the school of restoration at the Vatican. Following service in WWII, he moved to San Francisco where he taught at the Art Institute. As well as decorating churches throughout the U. He also painted portraits of such celebrities as Ingrid Bergman, Barbara Stanwyck, and General George Marshall. He made his home in Carmel, CA from 1975 until his demise on March 8, 1998. ROBERTO MATTA Signed 1976 Original Oil on Canvas Painting – “Ans Word”. This superb original oil painting is entitled. Is signed by the artist on the front lower right. It is also inscribed on the canvas verso “London 76/55″. It measures 35″ x 40″ and is framed for a total size of 48″ x 52″. It is in excellent condition aside from slight surface craquelure. Yares Gallery, Scottsdale, Arizona. Roberto Sebastian Antonio Matta Echaurren was born in Santiago, Chile in 1911. He studied architecture at the Universidad Catolica in Santiago. In 1933 Matta traveled to Paris and worked for two years as a draftsman in the Paris studio of famed architect Le Corbusier. While visiting his aunt in Madrid, he met Federico Garcia Lorca and Pablo Neruda. Neruda introduced Matta to Salvador Dali and Andre Breton. Impressed by Matta’s drawings, Breton invited him to join the Surrealist group in 1937. Influenced by his association with the Surrealists and by Marcel Duchamp’s theories of movement and process, Matta began to explore the realm of the subconscious and to develop an imagery of cosmic creation and destruction.
