My pictures have defiant boldness, they pass through a set of variations: from the initial creative principle and develop into increasing power where images will turn with the energy of my hand, my brush, and then will expand beyond all conceived. The world in my pictures is exactly and carefully reproduced in all details. This world is whimsical, strange, and it appears in all its completeness, and for all that , it is full of ineffable beauty. My aim is to understand and, by my own vision, deny the view of the world, which is happening in only one point of space and time and introduces the logical dimension into the painters surrounding. This condition that is offered to our reason and our perceptual experience is only one of numerous interpretations of the world. Even an objective picture of reality in a given moment reveals only one of its possible viewings. I attempt instead to encourage new creations, outside of the fenced world of perceptual experience; to convert dreams of reality to the reality of life. Everything, that I now do, is the original bridge from very old to new future. Surrealism enhanced by deep philosophical meaning makes my painting a conversational piece even in most discriminating collections. Together by Marina Grigoryan. Marina Grigoryan was born in 1963 in Russia. Grigoryan attended art school from 1974 to 1978 before enrolling at the Art Academy in 1978 to study easel painting under the guidance of Professor Nogmat Khakimov, and Lyubov Kuzina, senior lecturer in the Drawing and Composition Department. Upon her graduation in 1982, Grigoryan began her career as an artist by embarking on an ambitious ten year period of nearly non-stop participation in group and individual shows where she continued to honor her unique artistic talents. Her exposure to variety of experiences and people culminated in a desire to experience a complete life makeover, which she realized by immigrating to Israel in 1994. Grigoriyans paintings glow with an infusion of light and an amazing use of color that blend together to create an ambiance of almost fairy-like magic. “Soothing, “exciting, “mysterious, “vibrant, and alive are just some of the words that have been used to describe the artists work. Today, Grigoryan has added sculpture and ceramics to her repertoire and continues to perform as a professional artist. She has seen her work exhibited in Israel, America and Europe. Oil on Canvas Original Signed Painting by Samuel Bak River War Unique Art
River War by Samuel Bak. Samuel Bak was born in 1933 Poland. Bak was recognized from an early age as possessing extraordinary artistic talent. As Vilna came under German occupation in 1941, Bak and his family had to move into the Vilna Ghetto. At the age of nine, he had his first exhibition inside the ghetto. Bak and his mother escaped the destruction of the Vilna Ghetto by seeking refuge in a Benedictine convent. They were helped by a Catholic Nun and spent most of their time there in an attic. By the end of the war, Samuel and his mother were the only members of his extensive family to survive. Bak and his mother as pre-war Polish citizens were allowed to leave Soviet-occupied Vilna and travel to central Poland, at first settling briefly in Lodz. They soon left Poland for good and traveled into the American occupied zone of Germany. From 1945 to 1948, he and his mother lived in Displaced Persons camps in Germany. It was there he painted a self-portrait shortly before repudiating his Bar Mitzvah ceremony. Bak also studied painting in Munich during this period, and painted “A Mother and Son”, 1947, which evokes some of his dark memories of the Holocaust and escape from Soviet-occupied Poland. In 1948, he and his mother were allowed to immigrate to Israel, and four years later he studied art at the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem. Bak spent most of his time in Israel studying and living in a modest flat in Tel Aviv and did not paint very much during that period. After serving from 1953 to 1956 in the Israel Defense Forces, Samuel Bak lived from 1956 to 1959 in Paris, where he studied at the École des Beaux-Arts. In 1956, he received the first prize of the American-Israeli Cultural Foundation. 50 x 60 cm. 19.5 x 23.4 in.
