Original abstract collage painting on canvas 20×16 mixed media art green layered
Journey of Self Discovery. Size of the piece: 20×16 on a flat art panel. Inspiration: I wanted to try a reconstruction after I saw another artist do one. I didn’t destroy an original painting for this one. This time I printed a Giclee and cut the pieces into strips and created a random pattern. I used some inspirations from some suggestions from my Facebook VIP group to create a unique painting that mixed both my traditional and my abstract style in one piece. It would make a great conversation piece for your walls, or contact me about making a unique one for you. Painting style: This is my abstract inspirational style. Medium: I used a lot of hand painted collage materials in this piece. Original or Print: This is an original hand painted piece. Signed by the Artist: It is signed on the back and dated with the year. Are there prints available of this piece? It is not available at this time for prints but it may be in the future. Is this part of a series? This is the from my Transformation in Layers collection. Are there any YouTube videos made of this piece? I did make a video for this one after it was done. Jose Luis Figueroa Oil Painting Collage 1960s Young Black Man Portrait Vintage
This beautifully composed and delightfully colorful oil and magazine page collage on canvas measures 30 5/8″ x 22 3/8″ framed; 27 1/2″ x 19 1/4″ actual and is signed Figueroa lower left and on the back (along with the date 1963). The canvas is a salvaged food sack and the stretcher bars are solid mahogany and the frame is from the 1960’s. It depicts a handsome slender young black man in a curb yellow shirt and tight-fitting purple trousers. The artist has used popular publication cut-outs to provide a background of posters and ads as well as the object he holds in his hands. The paper has some stable, old splits and the canvas is free of holes and tears. Portuguese artist Jose Luis Figueroa b. 1925 created a body of popular cubism-inspired works with some inspired use of mixed media.
