For your consideration, we have an original oil on canvas of Miss CATHRINE Emmons Force Spencer. She was a New York City socialite who lived from 1891 to 1956. She is the older sister of Madeline who was married to John Jacob Astor IV who was aboard the Titanic. Oval Oil on canvas in gilt gold frame. Frame makers name is on the back. On the back of the frame, written in pencil is Miss Emmons- 58 W 104th St NY. This is done in the style of John Singer Sargent who lived in the same period as Miss Evans. Overall condition is very good. The painting measures 8″ X 10″. The frame measures 12″ X 14″.
