Up for sale is an antique 19-century oil painting on canvas laid on board depicting a genre scene – an Italian boy carrying wine jugs. The painting is presented in a period ornate gold frame. The frame is in good condition. The painting has some dirty areas and scuffs. Please see the photos, they are part of the description. The reverse of the canvas depicts the antique framing clasps known as Shattuck (dated February 1883 – June 1885), invented in 1883 by Aaron Draper Shattuck, a 19th-century painter living in the northeast. Welcome to Latelier Salon Art Gallery. Presumed portrait of Louise Hollandine from the palatinate, entourage of Gerrit Van Honthorst. Oil on canvas 26in x 22.4in (66cm x 57cm) surrounded by a carved and gilded wooden frame of time and Louis XV style 33in x 27.5in (84cm x 70cm). This painting is a Dutch portrait of the seventeenth century made in the entourage of the famous painter Gerrit Van Honthorst. The young woman is very likely Louis Hollandine of the Palatinate, born April 18, 1622 in La Hayeet died February 11, 1709. She was an aristocrat, painter and abbess Maubuisson. 1997 Don “Rusty” Rust Oil Painting Description and Item Information Up for sale is this framed, vintage oil on canvas painting by the well-known American pin-up artist, Donald “Rusty” Rust. Please excuse any glare in the photos. This painting depicts a comely, lingerie-clad woman lounging on a bed. Next to the elegant canopy is a vase of flowers. The canvas measures approximately 30 inches by 24 inches. The gold-finished frame is about 31 7/8 inches by 25 7/8 inches. Unpacked, this painting weighs 3 pounds 14.4 ounces. It would be a fine addition to a collection of art. Identification This circa 1997 oil painting is by Donald Rust (1932-), a listed artist on askART. Per askART, Rust was born in Erie, Pennsylvania. He is known for paintings and illustrations with subjects such as wildlife, seascapes, still lifes, portraits, and pin-ups. His works are at the Ringling Museum of the Circus in Sarasota, Florida, the Norman Rockwell Museum in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and the National Portrait Gallery of the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D. Rust has illustrated books for Valkyrie Press, A. Barnes and Company, and World of Yesterday Publications. He has also provided artwork for Reader’s Digest and other magazines. Additional information is also available on the artist’s Wikipedia page. Condition This piece looks great overall. The painting is clean and undamaged. The frame has light wear. Here we have a charming portrait of a chihuahua the painting is in excellent condition it has been cleaned and re-housed in a later bespoke frame with soft gold insert. The painting has been well executed the little dog (MITTSI) is seated on an upholstered stool the features of the dog are perfect and the artist has captured a delightful sitter. The original frame was past its best and did not compliment this charming painting so at some period I had a bespoke frame made for this charming painting which now I believe compliments it being soft and aesthetically pleasing. This is a truly charming portrait and perfect for lovers of animal paintings it looks absolutely stunning in a room setting especially with other paintings. It is re strung and ready to hang.
