Offered here is this Nice Original Oil on Canvas Painting. It is in fair condition, and has a small tear in the canvas next to the standing bird. It has been nicely framed in a simple gold-tone wooden frame with a beautiful carved detail. There is a signature on the painting of C. The painting is a simple, yet colorful and interesting scenic image with what looks like some type of pheasant in the foreground. The frame is also in very good condition, with only a few very light surface scratches to the finish. The entire piece is 43.5″ top to bottom, and 25.25″ side to side. Signed by the artist at lower right. Depicts a beautiful young flapper girl in a red dress amidst a detailed Art Deco scene. Really stands out in it’s gold/gilt frame. Frame measures 24″ by 20″ with a sight of approximately 19 5/8″ by 15 5/8″. Painting surface is in excellent condition with perhaps some light dust and minor toning. Approximate date of creation would be sometime in the early 1990’s, with colors that are extremely vivid and vibrant. Frame also in very nice condition with only very minor wear (see pics) including minor dings and a few missing gilt paint flecks. Overall, a finely executed painting that really makes a statement! WONDERFUL OILSTICK ON CANVAS BY JEAN-MICHEL BASQUIAT 1987 WITH FRAME NICE. This is an original piece made by the artist himself. The piece was verified by the AUTHENTICATION COMMITTEE OF THE ESTATE OF JEAN MICHEL BASQUIAT and stamped o verso of the painting. This piece was owned by a private collector before our online gallery acquired it a recently. The collector have had the painting for over 25 years based on the description obtained by the estate of the collector. We believe this is some of the last pieces of the artist 1987 since we believe this is a representation of ANDY WARHOL. We know ANDY WARHOL and BASQUIAT were very close friends and inseparable to say the least , but ANDY died in february 1987 which likely troubled the artist in exceeded his drugs used. BASQUIAT himself died shortly one year later in august 1988 due to an accidental drug overdose. This is some of the last work of the artist. What is the Estate of Jean-Michel Basquiat? The Estate was administered by Gerard Basquiat, the late artist’s father, until his passing in 2013. It is currently administered by the late artist’s sisters, Jeanine Heriveaux and Lisane Basquiat. The Estate is the heir to the legal rights and interests of Jean-Michel Basquiat. The Estate works to preserve and exhibit his artwork, and to be a source of accurate information about the life and work of Jean-Michel Basquiat. The Estate was administered by Gerard Basquiat, the late artists father, until his passing in 2013. The Authentication Committee of the Estate of Jean-Michel Basquiat was disbanded in September 2012 and no longer considers applications. The Authentication Committee was in existence for eighteen years and reviewed over 2,000 works of art. It believes that it fulfilled its goal of providing the public with an opportunity to obtain an opinion as to the authenticity of works purportedly created by Jean-Michel Basquiat. The Committee wishes to take this opportunity to thank all the people who worked on its behalf.
