This is a rare abstract psychedelic painting by Andy Warhol superstar legend Holly Woodlawn who became famous in Andy Warhol films and was a friend of Warhol and who also inspired the song by Lou Reeds (Take A Walk On The Wild Side, Holly came from Miami Fla hitchhiked to a way across the USA). Holly did this painting in Holly’s favorite color’s of gold and green with glitter which are the same color’s on the dress she is wearing on her book cover which are also gold and green. Holly says in her biography book that after she saw Cleopatra with Liz Taylor she was inspired by Liz so she also painted her eyelids with gold and green with glitter as Holly’s painting is also in gold and green with glitter and is also signed by Holly Woodlawn. As Holly also spray painted a Hotel balcony she stayed at in gold when promoting a movie she was making for Warhol and as she stated in her book on page #215 on how she wanted to use gold spray paint which is on this painting as well. As she also states in her book on page #81 her and Libra would make WILD PSYCHEDELIC DESIGNS with COLORED OILS AND MIX THEM like in this painting by her. And as one of the photos above show her in her apartment with her wall painted in silver with her name on the wall in back of her. Holly also starred in one of Madonna’s music videos and around the same time a major Hollywood movie studio was set to make the movie on her life story with the Lou Reed song as the soundtrack but negotiation contracts fell through at the last minute. As Holly also talks about her movie being made on the Joan Rivers Show on you tube in February 1993 which was one of Holly’s dreams to have her movie made of her life story. There are some producers and people who were still interested in making the Holly Woodlawn story and if a movie is ever made on Holly in the future this rare painting will rise in more value. It size is 28 1/2 inches in height and 24 1/2 inches across. Provenance History comes from a private collection from someone who knew Holly Woodlawn and was also shown to a known art expert who is on TV.
