Abraham Straski (1903-1987) WWII Polish Holocaust Survivor, Org. Oil On Canvas
Deliciously vibrant original oil on canvas painting of a rabbi, painted by Abraham Straski, a Polish Holocaust survivor. This is a rare example of Straski’s artwork. An evocative piece of Jewish history from a survivor of a deep tragedy. Perfect for any home, office, or synagogue. Add elegance and timeless style to your walls with this unique piece by Abraham Straski. Straski was raised in pre-World War II Europe as a devout follower of the Jewish faith. While growing up, he grew close to Rabbis in his community who taught him violin, cello, and the Torah. He drew his inspiration for art from the Rabbis surrounding him in his local community. During World War II, his family was forced into a concentration camp. While in the camps, Straski whenever possible saved small pieces of scrap paper and made thumbnail sketches of his teachers who he vowed would never be forgotten. It is said he kept his sanity by painting the Rabbis of his youth. 1: “Jewish art, photography & artifacts on exhibit at Chicago Fine Arts”. THEATRE BUILDING CHICAGO DEBUTS 27TH SEASON. Retrieved 17 Dec 2011. The frame is wonderful done with velvet inlay between the outer and inner frame. The frame Israeli does have a few slight dings as shown in the photos. The painting itself is richly vibrant contains a few condition issues as shown in the photos, but otherwise still very good. The flaws do not detract from the painting at distance as shown from the photos. This item is in the category “Art\Paintings”. The seller is “lowzacha” and is located in this country: US. 1943 WWII Bulova Military A-11 10AKCSH Army AIR FORCE Original Trench Art Runs
1944 WWII Bulova Military A-11 AF44 AIR FORCE WWll ORIGINAL Trench Art Runs. This is a very unique and rare piece. The watch itself is rare, but the fact that it comes on a trench art band from WWII is even more fantastic. The band appears to be made out of aircraft aluminum or a canteen, but I cant be sure. If says SOUTH PACIFIC 1945. The watch itself is a 1943 military model. It probably needs a serviced as it sometimes runs for a few days, and sometimes a few hours. Not sure if I need to wind it more or what, but Im sure this could use a servicing due to its age. Case and bezel have wear as can be expected, crystal appears to have been polished nicely or replaced. Obviously a well-loved item. Dont miss out on this one! ORIGINAL AVIATION ART WWII LUFTWAFFE Me 262 JET on the Tarmac by Peter Champion
My listing today for an ORIGINAL acrylic painting on artboard painted by internationally recognized aviation artist Peter Champion. This dramatic original painting is signed by the artist in block letters. The piece is professionally framed in an attractive walnut wood frame with gold gilt trim. The framed painting is ready to hang and measures approximately 25″ wide by 21″ high, with an image area measuring 20″ x 16″. The back of the painting contains the following annotation: Me 262 Peter Champion. I first viewed this original painting while attending the Duxford Airshow 1997 where I viewed the painting which was on display by a well known aviation art gallery. This is one of my favorite paintings and I’m confident its new owner will enjoy it as much as me. In addition, he served in the Royal Navy at age 20 and, in later years, was a glider pilot for 17 years, having completed 1080 flights. His artwork was commended by former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. Champion passed away at the age of 85 on 25 March, 2014. Certainly, an impressive resume. The Messerschmitt Me 262 was the world’s first operational jet fighter and represented a quantum leap forward in aviation technology. Its development was plagued by delays, and very few reached operational status prior to war’s end. Its shark-like fuselage, swept back wings and dual Jumo jet engines gave the aircraft is distinctive appearance. This framed painting weighs approximately 4 pounds, and packaging will increase the overall weight by approximately 2 pounds. Thanks for looking and please Check out my other items.
