A must have for the avid Dutch Art collector! Created while residing at the Hague, Maris became a strong landscape painter painting rivers and landscapes with mills and towpaths. His stroke became broader and larger and his use of color became more subdued and directed towards portraying the atmospheric depiction of clouds. His style of painting has been compared to the seventeenth-century painters Jan Van Goyen, Jacob Van Ruisdael and Johannes Vermeer. Titled: “On The Maas”. Measurements: 13.5″ x 17.5″ – Total Framed 19.5″ x 24″. Condition: Good overall condition considering age, no tears or flaking of paint, some crazing.
