In the foreground there is a cottage near a pond where several ducks are swimming. The cottage is nestled into a wooded landscape, with tall mountain peaks visible in the background. Estimated age circa 1930’s – 40’s. Size of artwork is approximately 32″ H x 36″ W Framed size is approximately 36″ H x 40″ W. Painting shows normal / average signs wear from natural aging, and many years of display. There are a few small holes in the canvas in the “pond” area of the painting, underneath the ducks (please refer to photos). Please view the pictures, and judge the cosmetics based upon your own personal preferences. The frame is included. It also shows normal wear & tear from used & display scratches, scuffs, nicks, dings, etc.. Still a structurally solid frame which very nicely compliments the artwork. Kort was born in Berlin in 1939. He is the son of a contractor and his father had hopes he would become and architect. In the meantime he had found that he loved to paint landscape and particular alpine scenes. Therefore, he began to study in Berlin and earned his diploma at the Art Academy several years later. At the present time he is traveling a great deal throughout Europe; although his residence is in Berlin he spends very little time in this city.
